Maine Recycling Corporation (MRC) is actively seeking an experienced Human Resources (HR) professional. The ideal candidate will possess strong interpersonal and active listening skills along with excellent verbal, written, and presentation abilities, with the capacity to handle sensitive information with discretion.
Functions & Responsibilities
- Supports the implementation and coordination of HR and Benefit initiatives and ensures the consistent application of MRC policies and procedures
- Facilitates and supports new hire processing, onboarding and terminations
- Assists employees with benefit plan enrollment, questions, issues, and changes
- Complies with all applicable federal, state, and company policies
- Files incident reports related to workers’ compensation claims
- Maintains up to date knowledge in the field of safety as it relates to work environments as required by OSHA, state, federal and local agencies, ensuring the organization is compliant with all applicable laws and regulations that pertain to workplace safety and health
- Manages daily HR operations—recruitment, employee relations, and benefits—while leading workplace safety compliance, training, and injury management. Key duties include conducting safety
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum of three (3) years of progressively relevant experience in human resources and safety management to include staffing, benefits management, legal and OSHA compliance, employee relations
- Adept problem-solver; able to identify issues and resolve in a timely manner
- Attentive to detail, accurate and thorough, and capable of monitoring work independently for quality
- Ability to diplomatically manage complicated relationships and to work confidently in stressful situations
- Safety administration experience, including OSHA compliance requirements, is a plus

Salary
The starting salary for this position will be based on the incumbent's experience.
